Anger 101…In Prosetry

It’s really easy to get fighting mad

When your priorities are not where they ought to be.

Often, in our own eyes,

The yearnings of our “wants”

Tend to outweigh the glaring needs of this life.

I speak from a place of experience,

As I constantly battle with this thing called anger.

Trying to find the forest in the midst of trees

Is kinda like chasing your tail…

The answers are right there, but you just can’t see them…

Can’t get to them.

Like grabbing at the mist.

Do I want the answers or do I want those coveted yearnings?

There is nothing worse than encroaching spiritual

blindness!

The adversary of Life is insidious, subtle and conniving…

“Did you want your head job with or without a grin, deary?”

…And my vexation, a shining testament

To the least of their exertion.

As I run in circles,

I forget that the dog that chases his tail

Never realizes that he sees a mirror image of

himself.

So, as I pull my head out of my ass

Kansas quickly fades to

BLACK…

And I stand up shaking and uneasy with a new pair of shoes…

That really hurt bad!

Your eyes tend to hurt,

When they adjust to the Sunlight,

After a long, warm, moist, stinking

hibernation.

The road that is stretched out in front of you is the same road,

Only it’s longer…

because of these hurtin’-ass shoes!

I understand, once again, that every day is a day of

New beginnings,

New reasons to laugh,

New reasons to be happy and truly appreciative

…Along with new reasons to be

ANGRY.

Insert 6

As I wipe away the layers of my own crap from my eyes,

A new stink, worse than my own, offends my nostrils.

And I have to endure this horrid, new stench

…and fight the urge to once again,

To prefer to turn back my own shit as an alternative.

Reprioritizing… it’s a daily process…

In time, your feet will adjust!

Ephesians 6:10-18 (KJV)

10 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.

11 Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.

12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

13 Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.

14 Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;

15 And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;

16 Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.

17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:

18 Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;
